Last time, I mentioned that youkai have four categories. The four categories are:

This time, I will finally introduce the last one, "Entertainment Youkai".

Entertainment and youkai that continue in modern Japan

From entertainment like horror movies and horror games to rumors and ghost stories, there's a lot of horror-themed entertainment around us.

It is not something that has just begun, but in the early Heian period, the "Ise Monogatari", which featured a love suspense horror in which men and women who fled due to their status were eaten by demons in a hut where men and women escaped from the rain, became popular. In some cases, Yoshida Kenko's "Tsurezuregusa" was delighted with the return of his husband, and his dog, who jumped out of joy, was mistaken for the youkai "Nekomata", and the youkai were treated as a comedy.

Youkai as entertainment from modern to modern times

Speaking of modern youkai, "※１Kuchisake-onna" and "※２Jinmen-ken" that have been making noise since 1978 are famous, but these points of interest are not just children's rumors, but adults. They were so scared of them that the school's ※３PTA and police took the lead in taking action.

On the other hand, in modern times, there are things that enjoy horror like "Resident Evil", which was recently announced, but there are a wide range of things that enjoy youkai as cute characters, such as "Yokai Watch" and "Pokemon". 

Meanwhile, my recommendation is "Underworld Picnic," which has also been animated.

This story is

Kamikoshi Sorao, who discovered the "under world" from the door of the abandoned room, witnessed a swell and was in danger of losing his life, and was rescued by Nishina Toriko.

At a later date, Toriko, who visited the university, was asked to cooperate in the search for the "under world", and both will investigate the "under world".

That's all there is to it, but what I would like to pay particular attention to is that the youkai that appear are those whose existence was recognized or born by the modern Internet.

"Kunekune", which is already mentioned above, is one of the things whose existence has been widely talked about on the Internet, and there are other modern youkai such as "Hachishaku-sama" and "Kankandara". Many will appear.

It's not a strong soldier like Chris Redfield in "Resident Evil" who confronts such fear, but an imbalance of a pretty girl.
